Simba Roots

Simba Roots is a reggae selector and reggae dub soundsystem pioneer from Istanbul, Turkey. He has been working with reggae records since the early 2000s. He started DJing for the first time in 1998 at the “Nayah Culture Club” in Istanbul. He completed his first soundsystem project, called “Simba Roots Hi-Fi,” in 2013. Since 2015, the soundsystem and crew have been powering and organizing “Dubclubistanbul” dances in Istanbul.

Simba Roots Soundsystem is dedicated to creating Babylon-free spaces to spread spiritually conscious dub music to the people, with proper words, sound, and power vibrations. Simba Roots has been invited many times as a guest selector to play on soundsystems across Europe. The Dubcamp Festival (France, 2018) and Dubwisemilano Festival (Italy, 2023) were among the highlights of his musical journey.

Simba Roots has been involved in many vinyl projects and has gradually developed into a record label over time. Simba Roots is always on a musical mission to connect and uplift people—Love and resist! Musically!
